She could have been saying she was high on opiates (i.e. heroin or Oxycontin). Smack is a common street name for heroin.

how do you not know what "Smacked" means... you should confront her and ask her who is smacking her...

If its a bully, i would seek help from school administrators... but be careful: if the bully gets word that your daughter is getting him in trouble, then your daughter may get smacked more often..

the more your daughter gets smacked, the more brain cells she will loose...

Yes, and since it sounds like she probably didn't inherit many from you, you might want to speak with her as soon as possible.

Wow. Being smacked doesn't mean you're specifically on Xanax, or heroin.

It just means you're generally fucked up.

She could've been messed up on anything -- weed, downers, or even cough medicine for that matter.

Why dont you just ASK your child?

Too easy! Instead "concerned parent" decided to ask a bunch of people whom she does not know for some insight into her child. He/she most likely did not want to look stupid in front of their kid...

I caught my kid doing pot and I approached him. The real dialogue we had

"Son, you been smokin' some illegal shit lately?"
"I have no idea what you'r"
*slap to the face*
" I ASKED HAVE YOU BEEN DOING DRUGS"
"Ahh, yes..I just wanted to see how it was, please I didn'"
*smack to the face*
"Now listen, get the rest of that shit and let's smoke it together"
"Yes sir."

Yes, it is very easy!

True, there is nothing wrong in searching the internet for expert advice to help parents approach the subject, but there is a lot wrong with asking every day folks on a forum such as this for their suggestions.

Doubt away, but if I thought my child was using drugs, I would not hesitate.

I kind of hope my children do begin to use drugs. Nothing serious, maybe just marijuana and a little experimentation with the psychedelics.

Pros
- They'll fit in at school and probably be "cool"
- if they decide to start selling it, that can be a decent income for a highschooler
- Maybe they will be able to get me high grade marijuana when i am older
- using illegal drugs and shielding it from the publics view makes you disciplined, more self-aware, and ultimately, more responsible.

Cons
- drug tests when theyre at working age (but there are ways around that)
- ????

So, let the kid have his/her fun. It's just part of growing up. Didnt we all use some drugs in our day? I think the vast majority of us turned out just fine. And remember, most kids are just smoking marijuana. The "drugs" that us parents do are often much more dangerous, but yet, of course, legal.

Anti-Anxiety, Anti-insomnia, Anti-depressants? What addictive chemicals do you rely on? hmmmmmmm?

i like what fairfax parent has to say...

and along with embracing it.. you really gotta stress the legal reprocutions in order for them to fully take advantage of your last "Pro"..

which makes it almost better to pretend you don't aprove.. if they think you don't give a shit, theyre gonna feel that way about others (such as somebody who can get them in a shitload of trouble)..

Relax Mom: "Smacked" most likely just means that your little he/she was "dissed" ("disrespected") or "pwned" (not a typo, meaning: "suffered a humiliation or defeat").

For your future reference, the act of belittling or demeaning someone is to "talk smack", so the next time your wee "he/she" gets a little too haughty with you, just repeat the following:

"Lissen up crotchfruit o' my looms: You best stop taking smack to mama or I'll pwn [pronounced "pawn] your lil' ass for real, biatch [pronounced "bee-atch"]."

Oh, and perhaps someone should also tell you that "he/she" is common slang for a transvestite prostitute. Yes, really.

Enjoy parenthood.

I was the first hardcore guy to come up with pwn. It was 1995, and I was playing on the HAWAII NETWORK for nascar 2. This was one of the first real online areans, and so i'm racing. I get wrecked out, recover and keep going. later, on the guy who hit me earlier(ended up dying of obesity in 02) tried to pass, I pulled down hard on him coming into the tri oval at dega, and and there was a huggge wreck. I meant to say 'haha you got so fucking owned', but it came otu as 'haha you got so fucking pwned'. they were like you need to learn how to spell kid, I was like na ah. And then they said pwn,a nd i was liek hehe, because we still didn't have LOL at that time.

Proof from wikipedia

"Moreover, the first real online racing started with NASCAR 1 using the "Hawaii" dial-in servers and it was not uncommon for these early sim racers to have $300 to $500 phone bills. Online racing had seen its first true realization, and to many, this was the dawn of "real" sim racing."

The term was one of 16 to appear on the 2006 "List of Words and Phrases Banished from the Queen's English for Misuse, Overuse and General Uselessness," released annually by Lake Superior State University.

oh, and.. you should research all aspects of a lie before trying to pass it off as truth.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pwnhttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pwn

Sometime in the 1980s, along with the advent of the hacker phenomenon, "pwned" became a synonym for "hacked" or "taken over by exploitation of a vulnerability."
