Because, it's the "politically correct" way to handle it. Just calling it a Christmas tree isn't fair to all religions - or so certain advocacy groups would let you know. Hence, the reason for calling it a "Holiday" tree.

Maybe they aren't Christian. Many people celebrate Christmas that are not Christian. In reality, Christmas is a pagan holiday, and you "devout" Christians are beyond moronic for celebrating it.

Actually, it isn't a Christmas tree - that was the politically correct thing to call it back (way back) in the day.

Same reason Christmas parties are called "holiday parties" and the Christmas bonus is now a "year end bonus".

To be fair we should pc ever religous activity.
we should celebrate the 8 days of holiday for the jewish and
the month of holiday fasting for the muslims. Easter sunday can be holiday sunday.
I don't really care but if you are going to capitalize from a holiday you should at least call it what it is.
