I agree on Byrne and Ironside. I think Spacey, Weaver and Bullock have probably received the attention they deserve.
Not sure why Claire Danes career cooled off like it did. I always liked her.

Weaver will always be looked at as "that chick that was in Aliens." Granted, she was in Avatar, but she has not had the spotlight like she did in Aliens.
Bullock was on the rise after Demolition Man and Speed, I don't know why her career stagnated into B movie romance.
Spacey should be doing more movies, he is a really great actor IMO.

Bullock just won an Oscar for the Blind Side and she was in Crash.
Weaver certainly had her heyday back in the 80s. But when you compare her career to other big actresses from the 80s...Melanie Griffith, Jessica Lange, Glenn Close...she is doing pretty well.
As for Spacey, he had all kinds of accolades and awards in the 90s. I think he made some bad career decisions with K-Pax and Beyond the Sea. However, he seems to be bubbling under the surface much of the time. I could certainly see him making a comeback in the not-to-distant future.

I was a big fan of Busey until he did a Turkish film in 2006 called Valley of the Wolves. It was anti-American and anti-Semite all the way. I guess he really needed the money.

I would say Emilio might be due a resurgence, really. Cuba though really just went and threw his career away by signing on to do some really crappy movies right after he won the Oscar. I know they sign on for those well in advance, so you could expect a couple at least, but damn I don't think he's done a decent one since. I see a movie with Cuba Gooding Jr listed as one of the main actors and I automatically think "This is going to be shitty" now.
Edit: And don't forget Jeremy Piven and Denis Leary were in that one. Damn good cast for that flick.

I'll have to say, while everyone was swooning about Ellen Paige during her Janeane Garofalo imitation in Juno, I thought Jennifer Garner had a surprisingly effective and nuanced performance that was completely ignored by critics...

Eric Bana (from Troy and Blackhawk Down) was also good in Munich.
I always thought Christopher Walken got stuck in too many crappy movies. He plays a great bad guy and he's so popular, but he winds in B-movies. At least he got to play a few gangsters and a James Bond villain.
