If Donald Trump is trying to woo New Jersey, he has a strange strategy.

During a rally at the boardwalk in Wildwood, New Jersey, on Saturday, the presumptive Republican presidential nominee boasted about his crowd being bigger than a Bruce Springsteen concert, shows that regularly sell out stadiums that can fill tens of thousands.

He also claimed Springsteen, a very-public ally of President Joe Biden, “actually” voted for Trump, and that he was a shoo-in to win New Jersey in November, despite the fact the state has been a Democratic stronghold since the Clinton era.

A spokesperson for the city of Wildwood backed Trump’s claim.

Springsteen fans readily fact-checked Trump’s gloating as they shared clips from The Boss’ packed shows at New Jersey’s MetLife Stadium, which has a capacity of 82,500 people.

Still, more people wondered why in the world Trump would pick a fight with Springsteen, who is a veritable god to those in the Garden State.

Stringsteen fans posted videos of the actual small crowd size estimated to be about 5000 despite Trump's claim of 100,000+ and largest crowd ever in NJ. Many video shows Trump supporters leaving in a massive exit halfway into Trump's speech. The venue could only hold 20,000 and many have pointed out that the venue was only 1/4 full at the most packed time.

It's not clear if Trump's attacks on famous NJ residents sent people heading out the exits or if they just got bored and decided to leave halfway into the rally.

And Trump wonders why everybody hates him?

Maybe Trump should stop raping, slandering, lying, stealing, business fraud and start paying his bills.

NJ has a lot of residents. BS has a million fans there who think he's a great hometown hero and a million others who know he's a boring boomer faggot

Trump would have lost New Jersey anyways. But the Boss has fans in other states, and Trump has pissed all of them off, as well.

No Meade, Stringsteen is considered an American legend. His concerts sell out at top dollar. Just like Taylor Swift.

We were talking about Trump gratuitously pissing off large segments of voters. Biden may suck, but he does not go out of his way to piss people off.

Springsteen can sell out a 80,000 seat stadium with tickets costing an average of $250. Trump could not half fill the same stadium even if he gave away free booze with his free tickets.

Right wing talk radio is about as credible for things like this as Trump himself. Trump probably had a nice crowd. But if he gratuitously pissed off ten to twenty times the number of people who attended, and the attendees were pretty certain to vote for him anyways, it is hard to see how he moved the needle in a positive direction.

Maybe he passed the hat through that huge crowd and came up with enough money for his lawyers to go to lunch next week. Think positive.

Videos don't lie. There are hundreds of videos being posted by Bruce Springsteen fans walking out on Trump's speech. Many have Springsteen fans booing and shaking their heads at Trump saying "Not voting for him now."
