the houthi were/are in a oil dispute with OPEC. opec controls which country can sell how much oil HOWEVER - some countries are completely shut off

the houthi aren't sinking oil tankers - they are TRYING TO GET OIL TANKERS to get refined in other countries, only nearby ones keep profitability but ban them, so they can sell oil

saying houthi are trying to sink oil tankers - THE REVERSE IS TRUE. it's been other countries who are "preventing houthi tankers from selling oil"
