Who cares about the yearbook when you make national news? Instead of just your classmates pointing to your picture and saying, "Oh, that's that mega lesbian who was in our class," now the entire country can do it.

"The thought of a portrait of her in the 'feminine' clothing as a representation of her senior year embarrassed her, and she began crying," the lawsuit states.

Attention whore/bulldyke.

She looks like a future UPS driver...

I can see why she would be mad. They cut her out of the yearbook completely - poof- as if she did not exist, never was a student there. She has a 3.9 GPA, so I am assuming she was somewhere near the top of her class. That is wrong. They could have held firm about the tuxedo issue and asked for an alternative photo, or even list her name with a note saying the photo was not included. But to just ignore her, her accomplishments as a student, etc. is kind of shitty.

I guess she was smart for a Mississippi kid, but smart kids do dumb shit.

I agree. But her parents should have stepped in at some point and dealt with the issue ahead of time. I assume they knew what was coming in the yearbook in advance and they could have worked towards some resolution. Either way, the school did a shitty thing - they could have been a bit more diplomatic rather than excluding the kid altogether. The kid is innocent in all of it as I see it and what the world does not need is another kid, gay or not, growing up as a cynic with a big ass chip on her linebacker shoulders.
