Considering, I'm pretty sure the rise is NOT due to any shit Obama has accomplished. Also there might be a natural rise and fall thing going on like the stock market. What I find more funny about the Obama chart is that the new one, reflecting the latest couple of months, has now been turned into a Quarterly chart - since in the last 3 months we had negative jobs again. And of course, the majority of the quarterly rise was due to census workers who were counted as new hires every time they were let go and re-hired.

Yeah, show us the new monthly chart reflecting Apr/May/June... posting the one you have here is 3 months old data.

This is the business cycle. The business cycle has little to do with the presidents in office at the time they hit. Because any effects of actions on the economy take time, it is easy to argue that Bush policy adjustments created any turnaround in jobs in the first year of Obama's presidency.

But those educated in economics know the president has little to do with it, it is for the uneducated rabble to argue these incorrect assertions.

If Bush had his way, GM, Chrysler and all of their suppliers and dealerships would be out of business. How would that look for the jobs picture?

GM and Chrysler were out of business, they were bankrupt. And it was their failing corporate policies over decades that put them in that position when the American economy turned south. There are two parties most responsible for their problems: GM/Chrysler management and auto unions. Blaming government for their corporate problems is convenient for talking points that less-sophisticated people absorb and believe, but the success of Ford's navigation through the economic environment (the SAME economic environment) discounts the effects of politics.

You may benefit from reading up on union actions during GM's path to bankruptcy. They knew their actions would force the company into bankruptcy and destroy their position. Bush didn't have anything to do with that.

I like the colors chosen for that chart.

Yes. Up until a few years ago, I purchased only Big 3 products. The only reason I don't now is because they didn't offer a good hybrid at the time I bought my car. Depending how it does, my next car might be a Chevy Volt.

The only American car I might consider buying is a Chevy. They have the Vette if you can afford it, but if not, the NEW Camaro at least LOOKS awesome on the roads. Don't know how they drive yet though but I would like to see. At least in SS version. But FUCK Chevys past reliablity record, they are lucky their poor management as a corporation and ill-focus on quality didn't put them under before the bail-out-give-aways.

I do a lot of driving, so it wouldn't make sense for me to buy a Camaro or a Vette. That said, if it weren't for the HOV exemption, I could go for a Dodge Charger or the throwback Mustang.

Reliability is an issue for the Big 3. But as we have seen with Toyota, quality control isn't an America-only issue.

Supposedly the 2011 Mustangs gets around 30 MPG with the new 305 HP V6. It will be interesting to see if it actually achieves these numbers.

It will probably be close. It's not that hard. The biggest factor is gearing. Many people have managed 28-30 mpg on the highway with 13-year-old technology V8's from GM.
