Quoting the court: "... there was "uncontroverted" evidence that Giuliani "communicated demonstrably false and misleading statements to courts, lawmakers and the public" in connection with Trump's effort to overturn the election's result."

One step on a long journey.

Rudy should make the court prove that his statements were false. They can't, because they weren't.

That they were. In an adversarial hearing where Rudy would have been given the opportunity to cross examine witnesses and present evidence. The court noted, however, that the evidence was uncontroverted. Which means either Rudy had nothing, or chose not to present what he had (which, considering what he was on trial for, was probably wise).

Either way, another small step towards full accountability. Maybe there is hope for us after all.

That’s not the way it works. The burden of proof is on Rudy. If what he said was true he can appeal and provide evidence showing proof of his claims.

The law is there to keep lawyers from filing all sort of non-sense lawsuits.

Rudy proved that he was filing false lawsuits.

Giuliani was a draft Dodger and married his cousin.
Enough posted.

That’s the second lawyer who got disbarred while working for Trump.

I guess that’s what happens if you’re dumb enough to get mobbed up with “the Donald”. Lose your lifelong profession and wind up get sued for 1.3 billion dollars.

It is not surprising that Guiliani would be called on the carpet for his performance as Trump's attorney in the election litigation. He clearly violated a number of rules governing attorney conduct. He also forgot one of the basic unwritten ones-If someone is going to get in trouble, make sure it is your client, not you. Getting stiffed by the client after the attorney puts his career in jeopardy is another predictable result. What is surprising is that the New York court suspended his license to practice pending the final determination. Usually that takes a criminal conviction, theft of trust funds or the like.

@usurp, you don't understand how the process works. Bar disciplinary proceedings more closely track civil rather than criminal rules. That means that a lawyer can be compelled by the bar or tribunal to produce relevant information and documents even if they tend to support the claim of an ethics violation. Failure to cooperate with the investigation or provide information and documents can be a separate ethics violation. Further the bar's burden is very low. Giuliani said that more mail in ballots were counted than were mailed out. Official Pennsylvania sources say otherwise. Bar's burden is met. Giuliani said that Joe Frazier was still on the voting rolls. Pennsylvania official sources say he was removed soon after Smokin Joe died. Bar's burden is met.
