Same thing happened with Jonah Hill and Seth Rogen, when he slimmed down for a time. Fat people seem to lose their comedic edge once they've gotten fit.

George Kirby, black comedian and impersonator, was once on the Jimmy Dean Show, he lost weight and turned to crime.

Not really. Stand up is pretty hard. You've got to come up with jokes and there's a lot of preparation that goes into an act. Being a gameshow host is infinitely easier and in many cases, pays better. All Drew has to do is show up and host. He is probably making more doing Price is Right or whatever than he ever did in standup.

Being a good stand-up comic is far more respectable than being a game show host.
The fact that Drew Carey lost weight and sold out was not a step in a positive direction.
