Not sure why this is a surprise. When you get past a few key points, the ability to marry someone of the same sex, the ability to openly meet up with and date a person of the same sex, not being discriminated against in education, employment and protection from crime, gays are not different than anyone else. While Trump has his faults he hasn't been out there demanding an end to gay marriage, and he hasn't bee openly homophobic. Pence is more of a danger, but so far has kept his mouth shut.

Well, except for all the insanely conservative, right wing religious nutjobs he's been filling the courts with that would have them all executed if they could.

The fact that Trump blows Putin at every opportunity would only make Trump gay if he enjoyed it. If he is doing it simply because Putin tells him to do, it would make him a submissive.
