Yes, many people are feeling sad and empty these days. Many people who were doing well 4 years ago are now unemployed and going to food banks to eat, while others are sick and dying from Covid-19.

Think about how insane these people have gone these last 4 years, but the whole time telling themselves "hey we have 4 years to find a great candidate who's smart and exciting and has fresh ideas and gives great speeches" and then the primaries come and you donate money to Beto or Buttigieg or Klobuchar, or maybe even Bernie. And your party pretends to have a real primary for a while, but then they just announce one day that your candidate is actually Joe Biden. I mean what in the actual fuck! And the campaign strategy is to hide him in the basement so voters don't notice that he's gone completely senile. You can't blame them for loosing their shit.

I guess it's similar to letting your candidate do batshit crazy interviews promoting absurd conspiracy theories, crackpot virus remedies, lies about cities being on fire and everything else because he knows if he isn't reelected, he will surely be indicted for a long list of criminal activities.
