I am TRULY SHOCKED. I think he may be demented. Not a joking comment. He can't be that ignorant. I can still see him being relected because people will defend this. Wouldn't term limits prevent that if nothing else?

The idea is that no one should be a "professional politician." There should not be representatives that are there for 30-40 years or more. It's mostly about getting new blood in there, and I agree with that idea, but I think Virginia particular goes too far when it comes to governors. It's not about getting rid of stupid or bad (criminal or just inept) politicians though. That would be what elections and impeachment are for. Not that those necessarily work due to gerrymandering on the part of both sides of the aisle.

Okay, I just actually watched the video. It is hard to interpret charitably, I have to admit. He doesn't seem right, that's all I can say. I've never heard of him before today but I can't really believe that any person who could get far enough in life to be elected to Congress could actually think an island could capsize. But he goes on and on about the dimenions as if he is truly worried about that. I don't know--I'm punting on this one.

I don't post under any other names - maybe one day you will understand and accept that. I hardly think it's stretch to expect that you would come along at some point and post. I was making the point that your posts are predictable--you defend Republicans and attack Democrats no matter what. I wasn't defending Johnson on the basis of party--it's hard to believe any person could really believe something so stupid. I'm just tired of people catching public figures in misstatements and acting like they don't have a brain. Obama's 57 state remark, for instance. After watching the video I'll admit it's hard to accept the explanation he gave--I think he must be on medication or something.

Another stupid demokrat. Medication doesn't cause you to think that islands will tip over if too many people stand on one beach, that is another problem entirely. I stopped by the NoVA Training Center last night, pulled up to the bus stop, and asked all present if an island can tip over if too many people stood on one side and almost all said no way.
