Welcome to Fairfax Underground, a project site designed to improve communication among residents of Fairfax County, VA. Feel free to post anything Northern Virginia residents would find interesting.
The guy living down the street from me is a real asshole, so one year I filled out a bogus tax form with his name on it and all kinds of ridiculous claims, then sent it in to the IRS. It caused a whole lot of hassle for him, it was hilarious.

More importantly, how did he get the SSN to make sure it was filed properly?

he probably hacked into his computer and pulled his prior year's returns saved to the hard drive. if so, that's a federal offense with mandatory jail time. i wonder what it would take for someone to risk their freedom and livlihood for someone just being a jerk??? jerks are everywhere. they're a part of the scenery....just ignore 'em.

+1, that is an unwise idea with much more hassle to look forward to than the $30 or whatever it costs to buy the new edition. The 1040 is different beyond the year designation so the rules will be different. Only do this if you plan on calling one of those tax attorneys with the cheapo TV commercials in a few months.

Chill out on the taxes. Marion Barry owes taxes from 2005 and they just now got around to placing a lien on his income. Whats the worst thing that could happen, you get elected to city council of DC.
