Heavy Doors
Posted by: Mr. Misery ()

Have you noticed how heavy doors are getting? Anytime I'm going into any kind of office suite, the door is ridiculously heavy. You really need some muscle sometimes to push these damn things open, and then they slam behind you, and then you have to hold the heavier-than-lead door open for someone else....what is with that? It's only been in like the last 5-10 years that I can remember....doors didn't use to be this heavy. It's like they don't want you coming into the building. I'm sick and tired of these heavy doors! There's no reason for a door to be so heavy! Is it to keep children out? Is it some kind of weird thing to keep the riff-raff out? I don't even get it. Especially when it's really hot outside, and you go up to the door and pull on it and it's like a little workout you didn't expect....it's not fair, it's not right, and it should stop! Enough with the heavy-ass doors! I'm SICK OF IT!!!

It's to prevent the spread of fires.

well.........I still think it's stupid. These doors are TOO HEAVY! It's becoming my number one pet peeve. Where's the fire going, anyway? Why is it better to lock the fire inside the building? Why not let it get out....and breathe a little. That makes more sense.

Dude, I'm totally outraged. Do you know how hard it is to hold one of these heavy mother fuckers open while trying to wheel a mop bucket through at the same time? It's like I need a second pair of arms.

It is the year 2010....we SHOULD have automatic doors...everywhere. Why are we still opening doors in the 21st century? And when are the robots coming? I want robot servants and robot sex dolls. I want an android sex slave.

It's just for fire protection. The office building I work in has the doors held open by magnetic locks. When the fire alarm goes off, they release the doors.

Misery, you need a change of scenery. Exile yourself to a nice third world country in the tropics for six months. Someplace where the heroin and hookers are cheap. Cambodia is nice during the winter months here in Virginia. You'll either die in bliss or worst case, comeback with a newfound appreciation for heavy doors. Don't let the door hit you in the ass on the way out.

Just sayin'.

The worst is when you come up to a not-so-heavy door but you treat it like it's heavy. You throw the door open so hard, it bangs on the wall (or door stop) and everyone looks at you like you're throwing some kind of tantrum.

Your Majesty,

Do they have robot sex slaves in Cambodia?

You should try opening and closing bomb-resitant doors like at an embassy. They are like bank vaults.

If we just had rooms that had everything we needed we wouldn't have to leave, thereby solving the problem of opening those heavy doors.

Misery - maybe you should hire a bride from Russia who will serve your every need in exchange for her ticket to a green card... just sayin..

Sex slaves, yes, but not robotic. Though many go through the motions in a robotic fashion. You have to go to Japan for the true robotic units.

Neither money nor green cards will buy you love. Besides how can they open doors for you if they are walking behind you two paces and one to the left? I'm too impatient to wait for them to scurry ahead and open the door for me.

If you have to wait for them to scurry ahead, you're not whipping them hard enough.

And the point was, if you had a sex slave, you wouldn't be going out to open doors - they would be getting everything for you.

My sex slave (I prefer to use the term "fuck puppet") is verrry specific about the tasks she will perform.

Speaking about sex robots, sex slaves, etc. anyone remember Cherry 2000?

A terrible movie with sex robots and Melanie Griffin (when she looked good.)

Don't worry, Im not coming on to you. I just always figured we were about the same age. I was 6 when that movie came out. I consider myself pretty well versed in most things happening in the last 28 years, I've never seen that movie. (I was a latch-key kid, and we had cable. so I thought Id seen it all)
Your knowledge of 80s movies sets you about 10yrs older than I guessed.

I was born in '81. I saw this movie when it came out on Cinemax, and I saw it again last month. I was amazed at how Melanie Griffin looked good, the movie was rubbish though. Kinda like a wannabe Mad Max.
