Cable companies make dealing with routers obtuse for a reason - they rent shitty routers for 5x the price of buying them. I happened to have a usb wifi antenna lying around and it sped up the Lenovo even more. Yes my dirt cheap 200 dollar Lenovo was good in every way except the shitty wifi interface.
BTW is was a lot more than 100 dollars cheaper than a comparable Dell. Comparable dell was 450 bucks. I have lots of dell laptops (build my own desktops) Dells are ok but I wanted 2 for the teens that I wouldnt worry about getting ripped off at school.
