If Meade went the 'wedding singer' route 20 years ago, he may have been able to supplement his income. He could have gained a reputation and gotten experience by actually doing that.
However, he chose the "I'm going to be a star' route. That is kind of like banking on winning the lottery. Meade never considered that he might need a "Plan B".
Now his voice has taken on a sour edge. His weight and other issues make it uncomfortable to watch him perform, the idea that he would be hired to perform at a wedding or other is virtually nil outside of a bone being thrown by a charitable person. Since he quit going to church regularly it is doubtful he is going to find a lot of those.
