They not only funded it, they gave money to companies who's only practice was to buy regular fossil fuel, stuck a new label on it at mid-way distribution point (bio fuel sticker). Some were caught: many were naught.
WHO USES BIO FUELS? At Exxon? No. Buyable to heat your home? No. At your power plant? No.
No, no, nothing of it.
Dems have been very quite about their amazing success story suddenly vaporizing into "THERE ISN'T ANY TO BUY PERDIOD".
meanwhile, Recycling of old fuel sources (a Carter and Reagan initiative), is still progressing. but no one is talking about what oil on the market is recycled or not quality or not ... to be continued

My John Deere and a lot of farm equipment around the world uses or can use bio-diesel. A lot of the 18 wheelers you see on the Interstate are running on bio-diesel today. Same for long-haul interstate buses. Bio is cheaper than regular diesel in some places. The temperature and altitude additives in bio are pretty much the same as the ones you find in regular diesel.
Most of the gasoline in the USA is cut with 10-15% ethanol - which is a bio-fuel made from corn, soy, sugarcane, hemp, and other agricultural bio-mass. Brazil's huge automobile world runs almost entirely on ethanol. It's all over South America, Australia, Europe and Asia.
Pretty sure a portion of the renewable-sourced electricity in the global electric grid is produced from bio-fuel (bio-mass converted to methanol converted to electricity).
Those pumped-storage hydro-electric plants all over the world, partially powered by gravity, but also by renewables that include bio-diesel, and other bio-fuels.
Wind and solar is making a mark all over the world. Literally. Solar actually powers our planet and our solar system. Hey - solar also powers all those other billions of solar systems out there in the universe.
Keep pumping your fossil fuel dipshit. It is a finite resource. You have perhaps hundreds of years before you run out, maybe even thousands according to your scientists who deny global climate change exists.
The sun will keep powering our solar system for billions of years. We will all have to wise up and harness it's untapped potential sooner or later.
