English is a mongrel language with roots in the Saxon, Norman-French, Latin, Danish, Celtic and Frisian languages. It's dichotomy and grammar make no sense and it sounds stupid. French is a gentle and complex language. Not easy to learn, but elegant and pleasing to the ear. No one is impressed to know that I speak English fluently anywhere that I've traveled. My 2nd rate French and Portuguese is much more impressive to whomever I meet wherever I go around the world for business. We should stop speaking it.
