Annapolis officer shoots possum that was on fire

ANNAPOLIS, Md. (WBFF) - A police officer shot a possum that had caught fire in Annapolis, reported police.

Officers saw people chasing the possum in the area of Pleasant Street and Clay at about 11:50 a.m. Monday.

Police found the possum, which was on fire. It ran under the back deck of a home and extinguished itself, but "was badly burned and suffering," said Annapolis police.

An officer used his departmental firearm to shoot and kill the possum.

That bullet will ruin the meat, and I hope they left that tastey carcass.

Possum with a bullet in it that was on fire wouldn’t be good for possum stew. Maybe give a little bit to the dog.

No. 2 Thanks to officer for putting the poor thing out of it's misery.
or was is still able to survive? who knows.
I say good call on the officer's part.

The people chasing the Possum, set it on fire?
If so they should be prosecuted.
