This fact explains why the first thing administration officials doing the morning when they get to work is check for subpoenas. And when you combine this fact with the fact that Congress controls the checkbook, Trump will not be able to dictate the way he wanted to his first two years.
As you guys are so fond of saying, elections have consequences. You may not like us, but you have to save us a seat at the table. Otherwise, the money will run out, apparently early this fall. And Trump has repeatedly proven throughout his life that he does not know what to do with himself if he does not have other peoples money to spend.

Nah, a wave election would not have allowed the incumbent party to pick up seats in any chamber of Congress. 40 incumbent GOP congressmen retired and the dems picked up about 40 seats. That, along with vote harvesting in California is what got the dems the seats they needed. Now they have to defend those seats in traditionally red districts without one accomplishment to take back home to the voters. And Trump will be on the ballot this time. I like the GOP's chances.
