Why do democrats want free shit, and still think Mexico should pay for wall

We all know that Mexico wasn’t going to pay for a wall. Mexico benefits from not having a wall. Why do liberals continue to take Mexico paying serious and using it as a reason to not have a wall. So, if Mexico pays for a wall, the wall is now moral?

The question is fair. It doesn't address the canard of democrats complaining about the cost of the wall whilst throwing money at every social program they can think of, but it's fair.
To answer your point:
Trump's promise of a wall and that Mexico would pay for is two-fold in priority and importance. Getting a wall is 95% of that and the promise that Mexico would pay for it is 5% in priority and importance. That's why almost no one who supported Trump really cares who pays for it. Stopping the invasion of hispanic leeches was what we cared about.

Not just indirect revenue like USMCA or the billions in savings from not having to support additional leeches, but also raising federal fees on monies transferred out of the US and raising fines on those who hire illegals.
