The White House is adopting what one official termed a “shrugged shoulders” strategy for the Mueller findings, calculating that most GOP base voters will believe whatever the president tells them to believe.

Trump brought white trash values into mainstream politics. White trash don't care about anything but themselves. They don't care about lying. They don't care about breaking the law. The don't care if they're socially unacceptable, ignorant and/or selfish. The high paying/low skill jobs they depended on to be middle class are gone and the world has changed in ways that does not elevate them. They think Trump somehow does that for them. They wouldn't care if Trump lied, betrayed the country, or shot someone on 5th avenue. It's either him, or back to the bottom of the barrel.
