Trump's EPA recently rolled back regulations on storing toxic coal ash. Now its flowing everywhere in N. Carolina. We have this toxic shit stored in Potomac watershed areas in DC area.

We turn our backs on environmental protection at our own peril. Our kids deserve better than our toxic waste everywhere in the land.

Def don't eat any fish from WV or the Potomac. I certainly wouldn't be drinking or bathing in any water in WV. Not even filtering the water in the WV will help. Coal mining exposes heavy metals and all sorts carcinogens to the WV water supply. Not to mention all the oil, diesel fuel and grease leaked around train tracks.

It's not storing it that is the big issue. When you strip away the earth and expose coal you are allowing the toxins to be released into the air for miles. Those toxins can then pollute water.

One of the big reasons for the regulations was because people near coal plants were having their cars, land, and houses covered in coal dust. The black coal dust even got inside the houses.

once you build a pit there isn't any chance in hell you empty it and make it "worse"

it would cost money and do nothing
