And a %51 vote cannot be used for anything but mundane work. Anything that effects citizens rights (such as putting Trump in jail for felony) requires a 3/4 vast majority vote.

Turning a Republican State well known for HAVING VERY LITTLE DEBT into a Sanctuary State with MASSIVE DEBT, without voter consent, is a massive change to voter's rights.

* right to have a family and home

* right to not have foreign countries voting in USA elections

* right to not have democrats favoring themselves in contracts and in the Courts of law

A sitting president can be impeached(indicted) with a 51% vote in the House of Representatives. A 2/3 majority is required for conviction and removal from office
by the Senate.

There is some confusion in terminology. Impeachment is like being charged or indicted. The Senate then holds a trial and decides whether to convict. 50%+1 is enough to impeach in the House. 2/3 is required to convict in the Senate.

Two U.S. presidents have been impeached, Andrew Johnson and Bill Clinton. Neither were convicted, so they both finished out their terms of office. Richard Nixon was in the process of being impeached when he resigned. Most observers believe he would have been convicted if it went to the Senate.

Impeachment is meaningless. It just means the opposition party congress doesn't like the president. Trump would wear it like a badge of honor then cruise to re election.

Andy-Your post seemed directed towards why WTOP was right. Mine was directed to why most people get it wrong.

PC-You are correct. Impeaching a president can make him weaker. It can also make him stronger. That was the lesson of the Clinton impeachment.
