These last few rulings had good outcomes, but too close for comfort. If nothing else, Trump needs to get out Supreme Court in order.

Trump would be dumb to rush this. Its s conflict of interest for him. Its in his personal best interest to delay it if he wants to do better in the midterms.

Are you retarded? You push the nominee now and rev up your base. Plus, you have the votes right now to confirm just about anyone you want. Why risk that? While highly unlikely, the Senate could flip. Funny things can happen in elections - ask Joe Crowley.

Why is it you seem to always no absolutely nothing about politics or government? Oh yeah, it's because you know jack shit. Figure you what a margin of error is, dope?

This is gonna be a shitfest. And Trump is unpredictable. He of course will not have the opportunity to delay things because he is expected to immediately put up a nominee for confirmation. With that said, McCain is unable to vote and Republicans can't lose a single vote so we will see.

Also, the recent claims of not confirming a justice during an election period and giving the American people the opportunity to have their voices heard seems to have been a baseless crock.

But what it will be is further precedent the Republicans have complete disregard for the opposition and are only interested in throwing away norms to whatever extent necessary for a power grab. With that said the consequences for them may eventually be nothing but a minimized and despised last bastion on a supreme court utilized excessively to undermine the will of the people.

Sure they can. You know why? Because, in order to keep their jobs, Manchin, Heitkamp, Donnelly, et. al. will have to support the nominee.

Again, why do I constantly have to school you on things like this?

I had no idea the greatest president our nation has ever had would have the opportunity to select a justice that will protect all Americans rights so quickly. Two more are a lock.

Americans were already super happy with everything because we usually are but this is just icing on the cake. It's gold flake icing too!

Correct me on what? Saying something stupid like it was a presidential election although no such distinction was made or matters. The argument that was made was no appointments during an election. And the appointment of judges is a process shared by both the presidency and the Senate.

I don't like responding and typing and wasting my time on childish, hypocritical and disingenuous arguments.

Republicans have a duty to let the people decide. Not only because its a deciding vote on issues like Roe vs Wade and because we are at a crossroads as to the future of American political leanings. But also because their own recent precedent when they stole Garlands seat. Not only that. They only have 9 senators up for reelection. Let the people have their voices heard.

It will turn out large numbers of conservatives. Let the people decide the make up of the Senate and have a legitimate court for the courts sake.

Wrong, dope. It was always about being in a Presidential year.

"WASHINGTON — As a senator more than two decades ago, Vice President Joseph R. Biden Jr. argued that President George Bush should delay filling a Supreme Court vacancy, should one arise, until the presidential election was over, and that it was “essential” that the Senate refuse to confirm a nominee to the court until then."

Advise and consent is not the same as nominate. Please learn about our government.

Did you even read the NY Times piece about the Biden Rule? It is clear he is talking about a Presidential election year.

Are you stubborn or stupid? Those are the only two choices here.

Outside of a few issues such as gay rights Kennedy has tended to vote as a conservative Republican justice. He is establishment though.
