Russia didn’t respond to turkeys shoot down of a Russian plane, because in the grand scheme of things, one 4th generation fighter-bomber Down isn’t worth going to war over. The U.K. and France aren’t subservient to the US anymore. Russia’s made strides in its military reforms and they certainly aren’t going to sit back and let their lapdog get pummeled. Russia invaded Ukraine catching the whole west unawares. I shutter to think what they could pull off in an actual war. We're the only country with an operationalized fifth generation fighter. We have two and are about to award contracts on 6th generation fighters sometime this year. Russia has zero and might have one 5th generation sometime next year (about a dozen su57's are undergoing flight testing now). China has one fighter (about 15 - 20), based on stolen F-22 technology and can't innovate to save their country's shitty lives.

Russia is good at missile technology and can inflict some serious damage to fixed and semi-fixed assets with those. But their armor, air power and defensive capabilities are 2nd world shit.

Anything China has that isn't 2nd world shit came from stealing US, UK and German stuff. They were always a generation behind the US because of this model. They have gotten very good at getting plans before the West moves into large-scale production, so they aren't a full generation behind anymore, more like 3/4's of a generation and moving to ½ a generation as their political, military and industrial spying has really stepped up over the past 20 years.

The biggest weakness of the US military and it's biggest threat is horrible leadership at the top. Whether it be the CiC or top brass, politicians should not fight wars. Abe Lincoln learned this 150 years ago. Wars should be fought to win. Anything less is a waste of blood and treasure.

Generation fighters dont mean shit to countries. They don't give a fuck about your so called stealth capabilities. All they need is the prerequisite number of planes, boats and missiles and nukes.
