Monopoly doesn't mean there's only one supplier of a good or service. Only that there is one that is so powerful, it restricts open competition through control of a market. Thus, Standard Oil wasn't the only oil company in the US, but it controlled 80% of the oil market and made it almost impossible for other oil companies to compete on a level playing field. It is the same with google regarding internet search and information/news dissemination. And at least Standard Oil didn't play partisan politics. google does. Burn 'em down.

The fact is "weighted" search results are questionable. Why not place ads and search results separately so that search results are not contaminated? Infact they do that but also contaminate results.

There is sense to contaminating search results by placing "most popular viewed" as the (say, first few pages) - this can provide a kind of "group think" or "problem - solution" to searches, a kind of intelligence. This can sometimes lead to un-intentional political bias. Not to be confused with artificial intelligence, which currently only qualifies as a toy at the upper end.

This "internet search" company turned to LINUX WARS (attacking free linux, poisoning it) to be the sole source of "android / saleable linux". This is favors chinese/asian sales and foreign control of USA electronics, cutting out Intel, Apple, Motorola, IBM, SGI, Sun, more.

As a company trying to tell the public they are not a left-wing organization using USA GRANT money, their position is not tenable.

The problem is, Google’s search engine is free of charge, there are competing services at everyone’s fingertips, and the barriers to entry are low. It’s a juggernaut because it offers superior service, not because it is anti-competitive in the market.

where did google get google maps (USA satellite data), where did google get book results (a HUGE library of congress project of scanning books which was NOT supposed to be put online and resulted in many lawsuits)

now's a good time to mention that other countries in europe and south america added allot to free technology or were hired to make some of that "USA technology", and that England specifically more started the journey into programming and computers than anyone else (yet fell behind in production)

That's not the problem. The are a 'for profit' corporation. Publicly traded stock. What they charge or don't charge means nothing. They have corrosive power in the marketplace and bring undue influence over the most parts of their business sector.

google is no different than Microsoft was with iexplorer before the government got involved. google is a juggernaut because it got there first and built a monopoly before anyone realized internet search could be monetized to the tune of $100 billion/yr. By the time the market caught up, google controlled it all.

The only reason google still exists as the monopoly that it is is because the US government partners with them to spy on the world for intel and AI. Otherwise, they'd have been taken apart long ago. The rest of the world is constantly suing google for avoiding taxes and being a monopoly. The US protects it.

and now the politics. in the past software projects were hosted mostly on USA colleges (and a few euro colleges that had IBM), because they had USA SCSI II drives (20 lb and hot enough to cook an egg) that could host the projets.

private usa companies had to beware (in EVERY industry) that foreign competitors SUBSIDIZED their products (ie, by commie school funds, by committee approval, by military). USA companies attacked would have to first learn of this "unfairness in the market" then also get congress to create a like-subsidy to protect them. the same is still true today

however today: more and more of USA is subsidized in a way our forefathers fought against: microsoft gets military and other money, colleges are funding professors to do anything and hiring illegals as "professors" who transmit results to foreign countries, USA gives grant money OVERSEAS, and so on

today, it's just a fucking mess of justifying debt and group attacks on USA, is what i say i can prove is the physically history of "computing".
