The "Declaration of Independence" document development in Philadelphia 1774-1776 is an incredible "success story" of evolution of American Democracy.

creation, ratification, and the "delivery" to all 13 States residents is am amazing feat of accomplishment and "success story" of how American Democracy once worked.

Now, post 2017 +, it's different story with "mass thinking, mass audience with commercial culture" drivers of the so called "democratic process" or is it really the same process as that enabled the 1776 "American Democracy Success Story", long before assurance from "freedom" was possible.

Is our "success model" for benchmarking American Democracy today is
still the development, ratification, and publication of the document
called "Declaration of Independence" (1774-1776) ?

Is this document still our benchmark in this age of "mass thinking commercial culture" that guides political leaders for public office in America, national, state, and local ?

government setting it's own pay 3x-15x above normal wages was not in the forefathers plans: it was strictly their intention to prevent it, and the laws bear this clearly

If they didn't even want them being paid a lot imagine if they knew about today's super PACs and how senate elections and even house elections require tens of millions of dollars and how all these congressmen and women retire millionaires.

Even Roy Moore the sore loser pedophile still hasn't conceded and is trying to collect donations.

they had heard of the golden ratio. but i think they didn't knew that super structures and advances (and wage gap) required more government workers to fund and weigh the virtue contractors. had they known they would have been even more clear (likely hotly pro-active) about how government "sets it's own pay". simple elections do not allow taxpayers to keep an eye on government: it does not suffice. merely setting a tax limit does not "keep an eye on government".

adam smith's invisible hand. that principle would suggest taxpayers have a competing choice of which government service to use. this sounds excellent for some things until one remembers: the important things (utilities, emergency) are unlikely candidates for service choice (cannot afford two water systems out of patomac river).

the answer has to fall back on non-government tax payers keeping an eye on government: but they have no dedicated time or funds to do so, no charter. if they were given funds they would then also be government - so that is impossible.

the only recourse to this is a policy that government workers are servants of the public, and as servants they are not masters (they earn decidedly LESS)

which is how things were in USA before: Bill Clinton

I take it from comments today,
that 2 key issues to "democracy working" has to do with

(01) government employee pay scale which is much higher than private sector and

(02) elected officials with questionable ethics are still allowed to continue to collect "donations" from the public and supporters ?

Question: What about the "success model" that worked to make American independence possible due to "collective decision making" by the elected representative of then existing 13 colonies, while the "Continental Army" had no provisions, no shoes, or food shortage, under "General" George Washington ?

Wasn't it likely he was going to be captured in Boston or NY, by the Red Coats and hanged , along with the many of the signers of the Declaration of Independence according to the order of King George & the British Parliament ?

Even with all the power and corruption of the political class, the Constitution still manages to hold it together. This last election stands as a testament to the genius of the framers. We live in a world where nothing is perfect, but America is the next best thing. And we owe a huge debt of gratitude for this single most brilliant political document ever drafted by man. And it is out solemn duty to preserve it.

What is "American Democracy" today as compared to when only 13 states existed
with first Continental Congress met
(in Philadelphia 1774-1776, when "Independence" was far from reality) ?

Is the 2nd venerated document, "Constitution" sufficient to empower democracy, including most of the poor, in this country, who typically do not choose to vote in local, state, and national elections ?

No its not working. But when the pendulum swings hard enough because of enough tyranny. Democracy will ring again in America.

The pendulum already swung because of enough tyranny in November 2016 when Trump handed Hillary's ass to her. Democracy is ringing again, you wouldn't know because you never leave your Mom's basement. MAGA Faggot!

The thing about democracy is you can only thwart the will of the people for so long. And the harder you try the Hardee you fall.

Café Twin Question: "What is Will of the People" ?

Question: Is "will of the people" same as "Collective Wisdom ?"

I have a list of 5 or so characteristics of "democracy" American Style.
(01) Freedom of Religion (no religious wars in American History. Civil War (1862-1865) yes, but not a religious war. (02)Popularly elected govie, national, state, local (03) Legal Justice based on Constitution and other laws. (04) Rising tide of commercialism engulfing us as population swells & mass thinking via commercial media dominate and surpass all other forms of communications (05)Rising Tide of Defense/Industrial/Commerical Corporate Complex (Some with questionable Corporate/Politician Personal or Cultural Ethics )

I am not sure if these characteristics will allow America to survive and prosper better than other forms of "democracy" or "non-democracy"

Examples of "Other forms of democracy" would be (A) "socialist democracy" such as practiced in countries like Sweden, Denmark and Finland, all of whom, though much smaller (B) Chinese Form Of Socialism/Guided Democracy (C) Constitutional Monarch (Thailand & Some Arab Countries)

Question: Look Deep about American Democracy for future ?
