This isn't your grandfather's or even your father's GOP. It's something totally different.

The first time I remember the GOP being declared "dead" was the day Nixon resigned. It's still around.

It doesn’t matter. People are tired of democrats and republicans. Same old shit for years while even the middle class goes poor.
Middle class and all go poor while others get a free ride.
It’s seems the democrats are needy of their party, that’s why they’re too much of pussies to stand up to it.
Maybe some real issues will be addressed instead of tranny bathrooms.
Pointing out every place there’s not enough of a certain race at a some establishment.
Millionaires taking a knee...let them get a real job and take a knee there.

It isn't the same GOP that existed when Nixon resigned. Reagan remade it into a much more conservative organization. Trump's election signals the Reagan GOP is headed the same way. The name may carry on, but the product is different.

The GOP bet on the wrong horse and it’s coming back to bite them. Fucked up the party and America with one election. Good Night and Good Luck.

The Article was not stating the GOP is 'dead' in the literal sense, but rather that the identity of the party itself is dead, and it has come to represent a slightly different set of values. Both parties have made a paradigm shift in attitudes, and are slanting further left and right than they have traditionally.
