Washington (CNN)US investigators wiretapped former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort under secret court orders before and after the election, sources tell CNN, an extraordinary step involving a high-ranking campaign official now at the center of the Russia meddling probe.

The government snooping continued into early this year, including a period when Manafort was known to talk to President Donald Trump.

Trump and Trumptards said they had nothing to do with Manafort. He's a traitor. So he was Trumps boy?

Plus, Sessions was asked this already by congress and he said no such wiretap occurred. Why would he lie?

Its all true. Trump said Manafort was non existent, belittled his involvement publicly, and Sessions testified before congress and said there is no indication of any wiretaps.

Both those things not only happened, they happened during congressional testimony, Trump said his statement during a press conference. It's on video, I agree, video of Trump and his regime usually is fake news.

Manafort was his campaign manager for a while so that's obviously stupid Gerry blather. Sessions never said that 'wiretaps' did not happen. They obviously did in the case of Manafort and Flynn. The former being the basis for the DNC's known collusion with the Ukrainians to influence the election.

Well well well... Trump wiretap tweet turns out to be true.

Lie 1. Trump never said 'my campaign' he said 'my wires tapped in Trump Tower'

Lie 2. Trump said Obama had 'my wires tapped in Trump Tower' - Obama did no such thing. The tap of Manafort was issued by a court under the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act.

Lie 3.Trump said 'nothing found' - he has no idea what was found and based on the fact that Mueller got a warrant to pick Manafort's lock on his residence and search his home in the dark of night while Manafort was sleeping there indicates that a court thought there was evidence of a crime and that Manafort was likely to destroy evidence. Not good for Trump and certainly not at all likely that the taps revealed 'nothing found.' Quite the opposite.

The Trump campaign manager is going to be indicted for illegal connections to the Russian Government - Mueller has stated that outright. He is going to sing and probably going to jail. No one has denied any of this at the WH, not Trump, not Sanders, not Sessions.

It is sad for all Americans - no one should relish this, no one should celebrate this except for the fact we deserve justice and we deserve to know the truth.

Now we learn that there was, in fact, a FISA court order and it came from the FBI and Clapper, in his own words, claimed he would have known about that. And he denied it, unequivocally. Maybe he forgot all about the FISA order wiretapping Paul Manafort while he was in direct contact with Trump in his campaign and after the election.

Clapper also “forgot” that the NSA had a data collection program of every single American citizen when he testified before the Senate Intelligence committee and denied its existence.

James Clapper, former DNI chief and now, favorite guest of media outlets looking to attack President Trump, either has a terrible, terrible memory, or he was kept in the dark about a FISA order that occurred on his watch, or he’s just a liar.

Who was tapped was the traitor he made his Campaign Director, Manafort, and that was done in 2014, years before anybody knew Trump was even running or that he would pick the biggest traitors and criminals he could find to run his campaign.

False. That was an earlier investigation related to Ukraine which was not pursued further at the time. According to CNN, the later warrant was issued in 2016 and continued after and into 2017.
