Irma's current specs are: wind: 185 mph air pressure: 916 mb


By comparison, Hurrican Andrew maxed out at 175 mph 922 mb

Katrina was: 175 mph 902 mb

Way back in 1980, Hurricane Allan achieved 190 mph.


My sentimental favorite is Typhoon Tip, not so much for its intensity, but for it's awesome size.
