I did and I wore a dress. I enjoyed it. I spent the night in the hotel room of a female relative of the guy I didn't know.

The food and drink are typically much, much better than at hetero weddings. The entertainment however is a bit PG-13, so don't bring the kids. Also, if you're hetero you need to have your wife or gf with you so there aren't any misunderstandings during the reception.

I have been to a couple ...

The couple feel very liberated and feel as though this has to be forced into the celebration. Unfortunately as a straight couple we have felt that it takes away from the actual couples ceremony.

Unfortunately so far of the three weddings we have been invited too, two have already ended in divorce. It really seems as though its more of a gay celebration then a celebration of a couples love for each other.

No one asks Jesus to recognize the marriage, only the state. Holy Matrimony is a religious ceremony. MArriage is a state action. They Are not one and the same. A church can have any rules it wants. freedom of religion. But one can not force a church belief on all citizens.
