The man was not all bad. He taught many, many Americans about hyper inflation, 16 percent interest rates on mortgages and gasoline lines and shortages. And then there was that very real long term unemployment! I just never understood how a nuclear engineer had so little common sense and downright stupid most of the time!
In short, he made a lot of Republicans out of Democrats that never voted conservative in their lives.

The only US President I ever voted for that was a Democrat.. He was a hell of a lot better President then Clinton or Obama, and a good man at heart.
That said the Lib media was at it back in 76..and they painted Ford with a dumb brush..showing stupid shit like him tripping, and the "Change Business" So I went with the flow and voted for Jimmy..I dont regret it..But Ford would have been a better pick..Money for the US Military ..repairs on navy ships was lower and once Reagan came in the first thing he did was gave the military a big raise and Congress got the military the money they needed..
