Predictions for Redskins Week 2 Game

Here's how it will play out:

WashingTone-Locian will make some predictions, get a majority of them wrong and then say, "look at me, I was right!"

My analysis was pretty dead on. Sorry if you are such a fucking homer that you believed the Redskins would actually beat the Giants.

As for this week, I think they will beat the Rams...but it will be close and will do little to bolster confidence in the team. Zorn will stick to his ball control offense and will pace scoring based on what the Rams do. The defense will stick to its "tackle the receiver after he catches the ball" approach and fail to do much in the turnover area. I predict a Redskins 17, Rams 13.

They SHOULD beat the Rams. Both the Rams and the Skins can't move the ball, so it should be a shitty game, unless you like punting. Campbell will turn it over twice and Portis will have 110 yards rushing.

It will be low scoring, field goal dependent, and probably Skins 16, Rams 13.

Rams 24-13. Still concerned about JC @ QB.

If he connects on a couple long balls, with turnovers (if any) being a wash, maybe skins could win a close one, like 21-19 or something.

I'm worried about this game.
Can't imagine the Rams haven't been hearing all week that they are expected to lose and basically don't have a chance. If they have any pride and any confidence, they are gonna come out swinging.

Don't be shocked if the Skins are down by 7-10 at the end of the first quarter.

In the end, the Skins should win 24-21 or somewhere around there.

I think they will do fairly well until week 6. After that, the lose every game except for Oakland.

I noticed some of the post-game interviews with Zorn after the Giants loss. You can tell that the reality has set in that he could very well be a short timer as the head coach. He had a look of absolute doubt on his face.

WOW! Also I predict the cameraman will focus on the cheerleaders 2.5 times coming into/out of commercials and a fan in a rainbow wig will hold a sign saying JOhn:3:16.

You been away in a time machine? That's the way it wuz ... a long time ago. Remember when the network camera would come back from commercial and you'd be zoomed in on nothing but the boobs of a Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader? Then, the "women's movement" complained and things changed or something.

And where IS the rainbow-wig-john 3:16 guy anyway. That was cool.

why is that? they only show the cheerleaders for a split second or they are blurred out in the background and there is some window blimp displaying stats or something. thats bullshit, why even have them if they arent going to show em? like getting fake titties you're not going to wear a down jacket all the time.

Skins' special teams suck. Suisham had the worst field goal percentage of a starting kicker last year. Their punting sucked. Their down field coverage sucks. And whenever the ball lands in Randel El's arms, you can expect a net gain of 1 yard.

This team will likely get beat by the Rams like it did last year. They have no sense of urgency, cohesion or team, IMHO. Their talent is suspect and hasn't improved significantly since last year. Also, is JC in command of that offense? Did you see Tom Brady the other night - that dude was in command of his team, confident, and knew that offense. Can't say the same for JC...even if he did, he doesn't have the team Brady has.

I predict a repeat of last year with them ending up 8-8 at best. Zorn will be fired, JC will be traded and we'll be back at square 1.

Options: ReplyQuote
Re: Predictions for Redskins Week 2 Game

First, nobody else is Tom Brady. Peyton Manning comes close, but who else is out there? Big Ben's numbers aren't that great for a guy who has won as many games as he has. And Drew Brees can light things up, but he hasn't done much in the playoffs on the few occasions he has gotten there.

Jason Campbell is an average QB. I would put him in the same category as Brad Johnson or Trent Dilfer, which means it's not impossible for him to make it to a Super Bowl, but unlikely.

I still think the Skins will have a losing season. I think 8-8 is too optimistic. As for JC, I think his contract is up this year, so I'm not sure if the Skins will try to trade him or just release him.

The other thing to think about is that we are going into a non-cap year. Considering the way Danny Boy likes his Fantasy Teams, I can imagine him loading up with expensive veterans for a one-year run. Pro Bowl caliber guys near the end of their careers who might like a big one-year payday before the lock out.

Yep. I thought it was silly at the beginning of last season, but it turned out to be pretty damn accurate. Everything it predicts about this next game seems pretty possible, although I can't see missing 2 field goals.

And the Skins could have easily lost this game.

i mean the arizona cardinals were beat like 7-42 by the pats the week before the playoffs and they went to the superbowl.. anything can happen

AND just a positive in a way, our offense has yet to score a touchdown, but we are 1-1 and lost to a very good giant team... things can only go up!!!

This might as well have been a loss. One offensive touchdown in two weeks?

I find it very hard to believe that there are no receivers open downfield beyond 15 yards. The reason they never scored touchdowns is because they are no threat outside the red zone.

Campbell can't hit the broad side of a barn beyond 10-15 yards and ALL the other teams know it. Once team lock down on Cooley, even those short passes get harder for him.

So far, this has been a disaster.

BTW, the Madden Simulater was pretty dam close again.

Zorn is taking too many risks with the 4th down attempts. The lAst one in the 4th quarter was absolutely reckless. The one before it in the same drive (that they converted) was reckless too.

I agree. The net gain from all of that was something like 15 seconds off the clock and no points scored. If you trust your defense to bail you out, give them five points to work with instead of two.

That doesn't make any sense. They were INSIDE the red zone 3 times, and all they could get were fieldgoals.

The Cardinals were going to the playoffs regardless of what happened in that game, so they didn't play like they needed to win. Also, Kurt Warner is a Hall of Fame Quarterback and Larry Fitzgerald will be a Hall of Fame receiver, if he stays healthy. Oh....and they lost to the PATRIOTS!!!! They didn't almost lose to the f-ing RAMS!

There's nothing positive about the fact that Jason Campbell can't get the ball in the end zone against a team like the Rams. It is horrendous.

Did anyone else hear the cascading boos against the Skins during the game? When they left the field at Half Time and then in the final few minutes when Zorn made his crazy fourth and short calls?

I predict that the Skins will drop at least one, if not more, of their games against the Lions, Chiefs and Panthers.

As for the "bandwagon," even if the Skins somehow manage to go 7-9 or 8-8 this season, I will continue to be on the Ravens bandwagon. Mr. Snyder has lost this fan until his tenure with the team ends.

They lost to a team that hasn't won a game since Bush was still in the Oval Office.

What is there to feel upbeat over.

there is not much to feel "upbeat over" ..

but at least it can't get much worse... losing to the a team who has been the worst in the NFL for the past 10 years is pretty bad, but if they rebound with a win vs the Bucs and can improve their play, this loss will be forgotten.

oh well .

well, they would be looking at 1-3 through the first third of the season. Bad but not the end of the world.

however they will be playing the Bucs at home, and there is no way i could see them lose.

they can and will pull it together and hopefully the offense can start producing inside the redzone..

but IDK, what do u think would happen if they lost vs the bucs?

I love die-hard fans. I love fans who went to all of those Red Sox games in the 20s, 30s, 40s, 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s hoping their team would win the World Series. I love the fact that most of those fans died of old age before that happened.

I love those fans who support their teams no matter how bad they are. I love the fans in Brooklyn who loved the Dodgers year in and year out. And the Dodgers returned the favor by leaving.

I love die-hard fans. They are too fucking stupid to realize that "their teams" don't love them back.

WTL you are fucking retarded.

Don't speak about the redskins, go suck off your new ravens team this year, you fuckin bandwagoning bitch. When the skins are relevant again don't even think about rooting for them.

See what REALLY sucks is you are an old ass man and have been a fairweather fan of the redskins and u have gotten shit in return.

I am a younging in a sense, and i know in my lifetime the redskins will win a Super Bowl. Don't even reply back, no one cares for your opinion about the redskins

About 90 percent of the commentators in the media agree with me. The 10 percent who don't are employed by Dan Snyder. When they no longer work for him, like Riggo and George Michael, even they start to speak the truth.
