BREAKING: Suspect sought in Sterling garbage-tampering incidents

In Sterling this week a suspicious person has been sighted rummaging through neighborhood residential garbage cans. The male individual has been seen walking on the sidewalk on garbage days and targeting houses where children's toys or bicycles are visible. The individual digs through the refuse and removes only soiled diapers which he collects and carries away in a tote bag.

When a passing dog-walker saw the suspect and inquired what he was doing, he mumbled something about "yummy smells in the house", and then pressed a foetid Pampers disposable diaper against his face before shuffling off.

The diaper diving suspect is described as approximately 5 feet six inches tall and weighing approximately 210 pounds. He has a greasy dark complexion, dark thinning hair, a scruffy beard, wears glasses, and walks with a peculiar gnome-like ambling gait.

Authorities have released a sketch of the suspect.
