My Grandfather was a bombadier on a B-17G in WWII. He and his crew opted not to have a name or nose art on their plane. Apparently if a US bomber crashed in Germany that had nose art that the Germans deemed "offensive", the Nazis would just shoot the surviving members of the crew on the spot.

I think Nazis were pretty much in the habit of shooting everyone on the spot.

I think the strategy was Ze luftwaffe would be so distracted by the Tits and ass on display they would start masturbating in their planes and give our guys a chance to shoot them down.

It's a good thing my grandfather wasn't shot down over Germany. This was painted on the nose of his plane...

I think the art is really cool. If I was a bomber captain Id ask for an artist to decorate my bomber with something as well. The Brits didnt dissallow this kind of thing till 2007 for fear that female service members would complain despite there being no complaints. But makes me wonder if there were female pilots would there be hunky guys all over the nose of bombers.

My Dad's B-17:
That's not my dad in the photo, but the nose art is clearer than it is in the photos my dad had. This was apparently taken before my father flew it, because the photos that I have show quite a few more bombs on the nose, and the nose art's a little worn (my dad's the guy on the left, sitting on the cockpit):
