Who knows what happened to her - she was blackout drunk. She doesnt know what she said or did. Maybe she begged the guy to let her blow him. I sympathize with the trauma but if he was nearly as drunk as she was neither of them can say what the hell happened.
dont get blackout drunk. What if she had driven her car into a schoolbus - would she sue the school because she had no recollection of what happened and maybe the bus just pulled out in front of her?

as far as sentencing being light i'm unsure about right length of time
#1 when he gets out he will have problem throughout life due to prison record
. ie, he will definitely have problems dating (many will stop talking to him
. as soon as they find out about his past), employers will quietly not hire, ...
#2 the girl knew of date rape on college campuses yet continued to get
. so drunk at one she passed out. we dont know if she did this regularly
. or if she infact had sex outside at such a party before. we DO know she
. didn't excersice caution and should have

however, as usual, coverage is very biased ... we dont see the girl on the stand saying yes or no or the looks between the two ... we dont know what supposedly was the understanding before the incident ... and at what point the two's story diverges
we do know the girl did have a friend at the part who didn't know where she was?

anyway - women can pretend all they want that in the future they can walk around nude (or be passed out at a frat party) and they will be safe from "crime"
but most of us know nudity of women who wander in secluded areas is a "fatal attraction" and there will never be a time when males can contain a stiffy so well (esp. the younger ones) that such a thing would be "allowed". if women demanded nudity the the law would have to demand "forest animal sex rules"
(nude beach aside, the rules are quite a bit different and limited)
