Funny thing OP...........this is about the Chinese buying a hotel chain that Obama just made the deal with Cuba to expand into.

Obama gets praise for opening up trade with Cuba (as if anyone but Cuba ever missed it), the Chinese get the fruits of his labors.
How much you want to bet that if Cuba didn't already know the Chinese were going to buy that chain, that they'd never have dealt with Obama to begin with?

yes Japan owns hotels but unlike hotels in Japan , college kids aren't free to go to them for a sexcapade , not in the American ones
in the American ones they are advertised as "close to airport access" and $250 / night even when they are rediculously far from any airport
AND there are strong ties with local or federal gov's paying tax money to keep certain people in hotels for extended periods "until housing becomes available"
IN FX CO VA they are, you guessed it, housing illegals in hotels - some of which aren't even owned by USA companies

like AIRLINES recently , the biggest user of of hotels is GOVERNEMENT WORKERS
an airline ticket costs maybe $200 but it costs the taxpayer $800 in oversight PER TICKET
when you have people sending mail (USPS) riding airplanes and staying in hotels that print money but have no real product produced , scarcity evolves

one of the sure ways for a landlord to make money is to get in on property which gov workers will mostly populate, to insure a corrupt gov is willing to up the pay of gov workers to get them the "nicer housing", and to COLLUDE with others to get a chunk of those gov paychecks (which are falsely high, padded, to include the extra rent since "it's only paper money" and gov workers get what they want)
the rent above real value that is being charged, which is legal per say
