Lemmy Kilmister, founding member and frontman of Motörhead. has died. He was 70 years old.

News of his death was first reported by radio and TV host Eddie Trunk, who was a longtime friend of Lemmy. Several others have since confirmed the news, including Black Sabbath frontman Ozzy Osbourne, who wrote on Twitter, “Lost one of my best friends, Lemmy, today. He will be sadly missed. He was a warrior and a legend. I will see you on the other side.”

The man was a God! Still rocking his ass off at 70

First time I saw motorhead was at the bayou I'd DC in the 80's during a blizzard. Loudest band ever and knew how to rock like motherfuckers. Lived life his way and was a super nice guy. Had a blast hanging out with him after that show.

I was never a big Motorhead fan, but Lemmy was a badass. Hard to believe you made it to 70, still kicking ass when you live the way he purportedly did.
When you think of a Mount Rushmore of badass rock you imagine Lemmy's ugly mug right in front.

Also, and Lemmy said this himself, I never considered Motorhead a "metal" band, especially Lemmy's vocals. They were much more "punk" to me.

I remember back in the 90's seeing Lemmy at the bar in the 930 Club with a Guinness in front of him. People were coming up to him and kissing his ass and buying him shots.
He poured the 5-6 shots into the Guinness, drank it, and then went on stage and proceeded to give a GREAT performance, as always.

He didn't try to be a badass, he just was.

I would consider him and Ozzy the 2 most influential ICONS of metal. And no one else is even in the room.

Prost! Lemmy...You can start playing "(I did it) My Way" and toast the real fuckin deal...
