This is news? Were there people out there that assumed the carcinogens found when smoking the tobacco plant would not be similarly present in mj?

So if i understand this correct SMOKING causes cancer. Why not legalize a Mary Jane pill. I know there is such a thing. It must be healthy because it contains no carcinogens.

So why the fuck is weed illegal? Government could tax each and every weed product, weed plant, lotion, tea, cookie, olive oil, gum, OMG THATS A LOT OF MONEY. ALSO HEmp could be legal too adding more money to the government to cut this deficit we are faced with. Mary Jane is the USA's largest cash crop. Why does this money go to black market gangsta cartels instead of helping to pay for infrastructure, welfare programs, ect that all you liberals want?

its not so much the plant as it is the chemicals that are added to the plant. Even if marijuana does cause cancer, its still less harmful than cigarettes and alcohol.

oh, and get a vaporizer, much healthier way to smoke, you arent actually burning the plant, you are just heating it up to a temperature where THC becomes vaporized.

well the major problems i see with the government legalizing it are these: They fear that productivity would go down, costing the nation billions. Another problem with legalizing marijuana is the fact that it would be easy for people to grow their own at home, thus eliminating the tax benefits that they would otherwise see. The biggest problem i see is this: Marijuana is a hallucinagine (im sure i spelled that wrong), it deprograms your brain. The government feared the changes it cause in the public zeitgeist in the 1960's and 70's, it almost caused a revolt against the government. Which is the biggest fear a government has, its mission is self preservation, and when a nation of people start to see through the bullshit, they get worried. I personally partake in cannibus, although im probably quitting soon, and Im still on the fence as to whether it should be legalized. On one hand, I believe strongly in personal freedom and personal responsability, on the other, I recognize that marijuana use is linked to psychosis and depression (technically marijuana is a depresant). But I'm certain of one thing, its a hell of a lot healthier and safer than cigarettes and Alcohol

News flash! Mexico is in the process of decriminalizing that good ol' drug called marijuana. Also Ron Paul has co-sponsored a bill that will decriminalize MJ in America!

I think what you meant to say was since it is illegal and people need a form of rebellion it seems like the cool thing to do right now, but after legalization or decriminalization the "coolness" effect would go away. Although wholetime it was never considered "cool" if you smoked.

I was talking to some friends over the weekend about the issues surrounding MJ, and I noted a special I saw on TV where they went to a warehouse production facility in a state where prescription medicinal use is legal. The facility mainly produced "butter" in tubs from the plants, and sold the butter to patients who then made cookies, fudge, etc. The two issues pointed out to me (and these folks who I was speaking to are PhD holders) is that one, it is too expensive to commercially produce MJ due to the yields and such if there is abundant supply (which would happen assuming full legalization) and number two, most people only want to smoke MJ since it is illegal to do so (assuming part of the thrill in using it is fear of discovery as well).

So you legalize it and immediately the number of teens smokers start to go down.

Also take into thought how easy it is for a minor to buy MJ off the street in the black market. Thugs selling MJ have one thing in mind and that is your money, not your age, your health, who you are with, ect. Legalizing it would put it in the hands of the trustworthy businesses and it would be against the law to sell to minors. Thus making weed much more difficult to obtain if you are under the age of 18 or 21.

weed is easier to get than beer. weed is illegal. beer is legal. legalize weed and in turn you make it harder to access.

sure dwight. look at amsterdam, you dont see a bunch of lazy bums laying around everywhere. they get shit done. its just at a relaxed pace

I use a vaporizer primarily and smoking just about anything probably causes cancer.

There is talk that Pot involves more risk of cancer because when Inhaled it goes deeper into the lungs and is held in longer than tobacco thus increases the risk of cancer. Its not that the marijuana is any more carcinoooooo ncarcinoooo uuuuh wait dude what was I uuuuuh hahahahahahahaha

some do, but there is no need really with all the bongs and what-nots of today. i've seen someone take an inflatable air mattress pump and convert that into a smoking apparatice. gravity bongs take too much work and people are too lazy.

I do gravity bongs or "GB's" or gibbs or gibbers. haha they are the best!

It's a ghetto form of vaporizing weed.

You take two knives (the dinner table sort) and heat them on a stove top burner, then you press a small bud between them and inhale the smoke.

You can also make a ghetto vaporizer with a 120 watt incandescent light bulb and any drinking glass. Put the bud on the light bulb, and hold the glass over it to catch the vapors, then just inhale the contents of the glass. Kinda like "hash under glass" where you fluff your hash and then light it up under a glass.

yea thats basically it, take two knives on the stove and heat em up, take a two liter bottle and cut off the bottom, put some hash on one of the knives, and press them both together, while inhaling the smoke through the two leader bottle. Works best with hash....mmmm... hash...

A good vaporizer works so much better.

As for hash, you really have to know how to fluff it before you smoke it. Otherwise, since it's the condensed flowers and trichomes, you risk wasting most of the smoke without catching any sort of buzz.

i vaporize regularly, but with hash you cant really vaporize, it would just make a mess of things. I used to do it in California when my roommate had a medical marijuana card... that shit was rediculous.
