He should have done four years in the military so he could have gotten the post 9/11 GI Bill. Besides having the school paid for, he would have gotten a monthly BAH check. That Kubert School's zip code is 07801, and the GI Bill pays students the rate that an E-5 with dependents would get. That means he would have gotten $2505 a month, plus if he was in a star MOS like I was, he would get a GI Bill kicker, which is an additional $400 a month or more.

From the samples I've seen of Misery's artwork, he probably dodged a bullet not taking on $20-30 grand worth of student debt to attend the Joe Kubert School. He doesn't have the chops as far as his draftsmanship or visual storytelling goes.

If you were good you'd be at Brown University or the famous Swain School of Design. Apply to Hanna Barbera Studios in Los Angeles is my guess. Artist are a dime a dozen, every other month there is a "Starving Artist" sale at some Motel and their work looks excellent. You need to get a job that puts bread on the table, something you can put your back into, like a custodian or grounds keeper or park dept guy. Loose some of that chubbiness

Artists are into Peace and Love, give Peace a Chance, Love, Love, Love, the Golden Rule and Karma nonsense. Like Meade, another Peacenik who would have burnt his draft card in the 60s and attended Love Ins, free sex and drugs....all you need is love. Artist don't enlist to fight they stage anti-war movements and wait at bus stops to lay into a returning Vet.
