Debate Winners and Losers
Posted by: Debate Rater ()

Winners:
Fiorina - Stood out above the rest of the 2nd tier and made up a lot of ground. Moves to 1st tier.
Kasich - Also made up a lot of ground after starting late and came off as a reasonable guy.
Carson - Held his own and got off a few good lines.
Christie - Did better than I expected. Looked more normal vs some of the rest than he does on his own at times.

Losers:
Trump - Lost a lot of the momentum he had going in.
Bush - Got lost in the crowd. Not where you want to be as the "front runner."
Perry - Didn't do well even in the second tier.

Break Even (but means that they probably lost a little just by not winning):
Rubio
Walker
Paul
Cruz
Huckabee
Santorum
Jindal
Everybody else who has no chance and doesn't matter

If they had paid a little more attention to Carson I think he would have killed all of them. He was sort of the invisible man unfortunately.

He had a pretty low bar. All that he really had to do to win tonight was to come off like he belonged there. He did that well enough.

Walker, Carson are not capable of running for president. Bush wont make it. Its gonna come down to Rubio or Paul.

Naaa. He's not his dad and doesn't have the following that Ron did.

He's from Kentucky, which is huge drain on the federal budget. If some clown wants to portray himself as a small-government fiscal conservative, he'd better not come from a state that's incessantly sucking the gov tit. Christie beat him up on this very point some months ago.

Fiorina and Kasich, yes (can't stand Fiorina, however). Kasich was reasonable and - dare I say it - progressive on some issues, which means he won't win the nomination. Carson, no - totally scripted. Perry was awful - pretty much as expected. Trump was Trump - no loss on his part. Bush was Bush - but that's not enough in this crowd.

What I don't understand is that the MSNBC commentators keep saying that Rubio was the clear winner. I thought he was totally stilted and snd scripted. I just have a visceral reaction to the guy; he'd say anything to get elected.

So you were the one watching MSNBC.

I agree re Rubio. Didn't see that either. He didn't hurt himself but didn't really stand out either. He sorta needed to.

What's the % chance we'll elect President:

Fiorina - 0% A political neophyte will simply not win.

Kasich - 15% Lots of experience, legislative and executive, in Ohio & DC.

Carson - 0% A political neophyte will simply not win.

Christie - 0% Really, he's got nothing. Mediocre governor. Negative bonus points: He's a loudmouthed bully.

Trump - 0% C'mon, Man! A Trump presidency is not in his best interest (or ours).

Bush - 70% The most serious GOP contender. Mainstream, rational, reasonable. Very well-funded campaign, high caliber team.

Perry - 0% Simply not a bright light.

Walker - 0% High school education, talking point machine, lacks experience & substance.

Paul - 0% Just sort of weird (like his Dad), lacks presidential timber & temperament (in the exchange w/Christie, did you see his 'eye roll' when Christie was talking about 9/11 victim's families?).

Cruz - 0% Too divisive, too far right. Guy comes across a smug asshole.

Huckabee - 0% Too much "God Squad", too far right.

Santorum - 0% Too much "God Squad", too far right.

Jindal - 5% Seems like a nice enough guy, very bright, but doesn't come across as 'presidential'.

Gilmore - 0% Lost in the crowd.

Pataki - 0% Lost in the crowd.

Graham - 0% Too hawkish, too annoying.

Rubio - 10% Not awful, just not good enough.

Trump doesn't want the job, just the publicity. He can afford to be mouthy because he's totally ignoring the ostensive goals of the process. If nominated, he will not run. If elected, he will not serve.

Trump was fine with me last night . Gave em hell. Bush was in excuse me mode.

In reality I don't think Trump would really want to be the President, he could not afford to take the cut. Hes just wanting to get his message out, and yes it will help the GOP despite what Libs what people to think.

All in all Yawn It probably will be Bush , but there's 16 months to go. Rubio is coming around , he needs some more experience as he's not "Magic" like Obama was even though Obama had very little experience to be President.

All in all I would vote for any one of them over the Lying Cow Hillary, The Commie Bernieeeee, the Fake Indian ?? What's her name?, or the buffoon Double Blast Joe, though I do like Joe for his antics. He would be a good guy if he was a Republican, no hard feelings Joe your Ok with me for a Democrat and I hope Joe's their candidate as Jim Webb wont get it.

IF THEY CAN'T TAKE A JOKE...I'M FUCKED!
