Taking a break from wondering whether Monique has a job somewhere making an hourly wage.

Given that Monique gets what she says she wants (at least for today), which is no say in the outcome.

And that the actions that can't be pinned on Basl are attributed to the John Doe.

What about the laptop?

Assuming Monique will not toss it out the window because that gains her nothing.

Should she give the laptop to Basl so that Basl has something to offer in the settlement?

The laptop legally belongs to lizzie. She can do whatever she wants with it. There is no conspiracy if she sells it to someone, not even eesh. Things can be assumed and implied all they'd like but it holds no legal grounds.Maybe the Morenos should have gone about things differently and this wouldn't even be a problem for them right now.

Besides, this trial that's over a year from now has nothing to do with this laptop. They would have to ammend the lawsuit to speak on said laptop. That will cost them even more money.

I believe now is the time when the Morenos realize they probably shouldn't have called the cops on lizzie and said she stole the laptop and wouldn't give it back. She had already told them she would give it back. Now she legally doesn't have to and its most likely going to end up with eesh.

Unfortunately for the Morenos, there is absolutely nothing they can do to get the laptop back now. They can try taking her to small claims court but that will involve more money and more time on petty things.

If two police agencies declined to take action as well as the commonwealth's attorney then there's little hope for them. Claiming that someone stole something after a fight is just a stupid thing to do. Even worse is lizzie had taken the laptop before the shitstorm happened so it doesn't show malice on her part which is why the police and criminal courts have already dismissed it.

The Morenos got what they deserved for acting like malicious idiots. Making false claims and involving police ended up doing the very thing they were trying to prevent from happening. That's just how the cookie crumbles sometimes. Do cruddy shit like lie to the police then your stalker ends up with your laptop. Its that simple.

Moreno had threatened suicide on the site at least a couple times before Basl had any interactions with him. There is no evidence Basl caused any additional harm.

Moreno had already made numerous pedophile comments which harmed his reputation and jeopardized his mother's clearance without any interaction with Basl.

Of course it will be funny to hear eesh's attorney ask Moreno if he himself has ever gone uninvited to a forum member's house? Yes. Was the person at home? No.
Were they asked to leave? Yes. How long did he lurk outside their house in an attempt to frighten and intimidate the Wells family? 30 minutes sitting on the curb, about an hour all together.
