The Gunlover-tard Champion is crowned: LAPD Find 1,200 Guns, 2 Tons Of Ammo In Man's Home While Investigating His Death
Posted by: Gunlover-tard ()

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Police investigating the death of a Los Angeles man uncovered an arsenal inside his home and garage — more than 1,200 guns and about two tons of ammunition, authorities said Monday.

Los Angeles Police Department Cmdr. Andrew Smith called the number of rifles, pistols and shotguns staggering. Many had never been fired and some were still wrapped in boxes, with price tags still attached.

"Our truck couldn't carry it all," Smith told the Los Angeles Times. "We had to go back and make another trip."

There were no signs of foul play. Police have found no evidence the man, who has not been identified, was involved in criminal activity.

Police made the discovery after the man's decomposing body was found in a car down the street from his home in the Pacific Palisades neighborhood.
Detectives want to find out why he had so many guns and are examining the weapons to determine if they have been linked to any crime.

"We have a lot of work to do," Smith said. "Running the background, history and legality of these weapons is going to require a tremendous amount of time."
"It's not a crime to have a large number of weapons so long as they were legal to own and legally obtained," Smith added. "We want to make sure that's the case."

So the police have no evidence of any crimes, but they loud mouth the find.

Lots of people buy guns as investments , that's why so many were not fired, and when Dems create gun control scares there worth even more money till the frenzy subsides.

I remember seeing a bunch of older but brand new guns in boxes at Zero Prince street in Old Town. They bought 50 grand worth from a guy who bought one once a
payday and tripled his money when he sold them. The guy had boxes of guns stacked high in closets and there were more, the guy was waiting for them to go up higher in price.

Beats the hell out of buying Enron Stock and even Dems are doing it! He He

I paid $400.00 for a NIB MAK-90 back in the day. Now they're $1,200.00.
Wish I'd bought a ton of them.

You'll admit that 1,200 guns & 4,000 lbs. of ammo is quite a ways beyond what a "normal" gunlover-tard might possess.

These are the type of gun sales that concern me the most. The 'one-gun-a-paycheck' reseller doesn't have to be licensed, doesn't have to do background checks on his customers... Who's he selling to? Are the guns being used to commit crimes, or sold again to those who will?

i've been thinking of doing the same thing.

checking up on LA to see how much of their bullshit is legally obtained. there are many things in store other than weapons that talk the same ammount of $$$

illegal search and seizure in the home

obviously it is the man's heirs who should "go through his things" and decide what to do with them

the idea "the government inspects your home at your death and keeps what they want" is TOTAL BULLSHIT

Doesn't make it 'bad' or illegal or any of the other negative things that you want to try to imply. Any more than a guy with a ton of cars or coins or rare books or Nike shoes or anything else.

Nope. They do need to be licensed for more than incidental private intrastate sales which then are regulated under state law. Which in the case of CA means everything, even private sales, goes through an FFL. With that many guns he probably did have at least a C&R license (which requires records of all purchases and sales) if not a full Class 3 FFL.

Guys who collect stuff like this are about the last people you need to worry about. Most of them never even unbox or shoot them. The vast majority of it very likely are guns that are of little to no interest to criminals.

Prolly was a convention vender/dealer. And who really cares, he can only shoot one maybe two at a time. Its like getting a DUI and owning 10 cars.

Nothing to see here, move on.

Nope.

Cops found a dead guy in a car & went to check out his digs. Found & took possession of the guns & ammo (for obvious reasons). The guns & ammo will be returned to the heirs, probably after an autopsy of the dead guy.

I'm not implying anything. You wrote: "So the police have no evidence of any crimes, but they loud mouth the find." to which I responded that I could understand the cops releasing news of the rather large find to the press. That's all.

He sold them to the licensed gun dealer that was at Zero Prince St for years .
Any guns sold by the dealer were subject to all Fed State and Alex City laws.

That's the easiest way to do it with a bunch of guns or a estate sale.

A man died and with no crimes committed its not their business to tell the press anything about anyone other then the guy was found dead.

If there's a crime that's different.

Using the term gunlover-tard and then babbling on about 'one-gun-a-paycheck' resellers and the guns being used in crimes.

If you're going to post your stupid anti-guntard shit, then at least own it.

Unusual/out-of-the-ordinary details like this always seem to get reported. Like if the guy had had 75 cats, or was an extreme hoarder, or had 1,200 women's handbags, many never used, others still wrapped in boxes, with price tags still attached.

The 'one-gun-a-paycheck' reseller came from Double Action Jackson's post.

Sometimes, guns are used in crimes. I'm not sure if you're aware of that.

And the elaboration with respect to them 'concerning you the most' and (largely incorrect) stuff about sales, and background checks, etc., all came from you:

Winner!!

Btw, I own 30 guns, most are high end AR-15's like HK, LMT, JP, Vltor, and specialty Colts.

1,200. I am very impressed and jeolous. I don't even know how you store 1,200 guns.

He could been a C & R collector. It's really easy to get a C & R license from the ATF and you can have firearms considered curio and relic shipped straight to your home.

Only thing that sucks is the ATF can do a surprise inspection any time of day and make sure you are keeping inventory logs.
