Welcome to Fairfax Underground, a project site designed to improve communication among residents of Fairfax County, VA. Feel free to post anything Northern Virginia residents would find interesting.
$300,000 invest it in a mutual fund (responsible thing to do).
$150,000 used Ferrari California Convertible with less than 10,000 miles.
$20,000 Rolex Daytona or some other nice watch
$20,000 2 Hermes-Paris made to measure suits
$10,000 2 high end hookers or seeking arrangement type of thing
Single. Own my own McMansion. Good high paying job. Just looking to blow 40% of it, but in a fun way. Not into drugs or alcohol.

What's it like being a huge fucking ign'ant never-going-to-inherit-shit pussy faggot who can't even craft a good troll post?
I'd spend it on experiences - travel, food, women. You're single, take some time off, rent a villa in Tuscany (or an apartment in the 5th arrondissement), check out the local talent. Have a kaiseki meal in Kyoto, drink your way across Edinburgh (the Fringe Festival is coming up a few weeks), hit the Blue Lagoon in Iceland, watch elephants at Chobe. Bonus: the dollar is doing great just now. Time to live it up.
>Would you advise your daughter to do the same? Travel, food, men?
Sure. The world's a gas if you take precautions.
>The 6th is nicer, but one should wander into the 5th..... as long as we're being pretentious.
5th was more fun when I was a poor single guy. Now that I'm married and have money, I seem to be spending more time in the 4th or at least staying there.
>Or, he could invest the money while focusing on his career.
Hell of a way to spend the truly great years of your life. Amazed that nobody composes sonnets about careful and prudent investment.

Remind your daughter to get her HPV Vaccine. How old is she now?

The 4th? You gotta be kidding me.

Yeah, financial planning is a stupid idea for a young man to consider.

Not old enough to worry about that just yet. I'm guessing by the time she needs it, we'll have something better for HPV.

Good central location, nice buildings, plenty of places to rent. No, I'm not gay.

He's got a good job and (I'm guessing) he's youngish - live a little. My stupid misadventures led me here, happy, married, and well-off. But I had to pass through a bit of nonsense first, including a month or two with a french chick who was out of my league (and crazy).
> OMG, you're like... deep.
Hey, the Glory Road's not for everyone but I'd rather die on it than wish I'd had the balls.

Thanks for the ideas. Some clarifications. I'm not young'ish. Mid-life. Technically not single (I'm divorced, I misspoke). Should have said divorced, and unattached instead of single. Kid's college is taken care of. Most of the experience type things I've already done when younger (except the 2 high end hookers). Not my main inheritance. This is more found money, so really looking to blow it on things I normally wouldn't buy. It's basically Credit Card points to me. I may substitute the Rolex for a legal machine gun (M16A1). Thanks for the feedback though.
I'd still travel some especially if you haven't done that much. I think before I bought either a machine gun or a convertible, I'd rent one first. These are both items that seem more fun in the abstract but after you've shot a bunch of rounds or driven around a while with the top down, you might end up wondering what you were thinking. But hey, unwise purchases are part of the fun - I say go nuts.
Might want to skip the rolex - hardly ever wear mine despite a fondness for old clockwork.

The California is for posers.
Why don't you just go get a new Prius instead?
Here, I've re-written the list for ya:
$300,000 Investment in mutual funds (responsible thing to do).
$153,425 Shrink to help figure out why I'm such a loser
$26,000 New Prius.
$20,000 Donation to PeTA
$500 Shopping spree @ The Gap
$75 Going 'dutch' on dinner with the nerdy bitch from Accounts Payable.

Sorry dude, I'm not donating $153,425 to figure why you're such a loser. I honestly don't care.
And I'm not buying a new Prius. I'm not buying any car that gets over 12 mpg combined city/highway. The lower the MPG the better as far as I'm concerned.

I don't think you guys are really getting the spirit of the financed mid-life crisis.
I would buy a limo hire a chauffeur get a white pants suit a hat with a large feather shiny shoes some cool shades some gold inlays on my teeth a cane with a diamond on it and ride round DC with 50's in my pocket handing them out to all my girl friends for as long as the ride lasted. Ya Baby Pimping at Last in High Style!!
