No shit, Sherlock. If you don't have a gun, you can't shoot yourself. I guess the same statistic will hold true for countries that don't have bridges or tall buildings. God, you're an idiot.

He gets lonely over holidays.

That's why he has to dredge up stories from over a year ago desperately hoping that somebody will respond to his trolling.

He needs a friend.

I understand that reading more than the headline is a problem for most people. I will clip out the first paragraph (which is contrary to the headline):

"A new survey in the Annals of Internal Medicine narrows down some of the causal relationship between guns and death by finding conclusively that having a gun in your home makes you more likely to successfully attempt suicide."

So owning a gun increases the chances of a successful suicide. Shocking isn't it? Guns actually work as advertised.

"The authors of the survey also found with a lesser degree of certainty that people with guns in their home are more likely to be the victims of a homicide."

This kind of defeats the exciting headline.

"Evidence not included in their review also indicates that a gun in the home increases the risk for homicide victimization for others in society."

So, we make some generalizations but don't provide the evidence for peer review. Take our word for it -- we are right. Doctors can barely perform linear regression.

Every gunowner know that there are chances a family member may be accidentally shot and killed. It just something a gun owner has to deal with.

Precisely. That's why I taught my kids firearms safety since they were old enough to hold a gun. They went to the range, hunted, and learned the skills
necessary and somehow they've managed to live into their late 20's and early
30's. No problems here. In fact, they're all members of the NRA.
Tough shit libs. Waste your breath on somebody else. The 2nd Amendment stands.

So every few hours an American gun owner dies from a gunshot whether it's suicide, homicide or accidental shooting. It's a win-win situation.

Gun ownership increases dramatically under a Democratic president. NRA/Gun Lobby/Gun Manufacturers are probably donating a ton to the DNC during the presidential elections (probably piped through some "unaffiliated" entity)

You dolts are being played like a fiddle. Money trumps all...

Or anyone else.

So why bring unnecessary danger into your home?

Never run out of spin.

Guns don't kill people, people with guns kill people - quite often by accident.

The most important day in your life is the day some gunlover-tard accidentally kills you

So, you're way of announcing your hate for guns, murder, and suicide is to express your happiness of murder and suicide? That makes a lot of sense. Dumbass.

Why is suicide a problem? Most suicide victims can't deal with everyday life. It's actually a noble way to end the cycle of desperation, whether it's money, depression, delusions, etc. I actually had a close family member commit suicide. At first, I was ashamed and embarrassed, but the years have passed and I've looked at it differently. The person that put a bullet through his head was in such pain and agony through life, I actually think it gave him peace. I can remember going to the hospital for previous suicide attempts and trying to convince the person that he had a reason to live for. Those occasions were hard on the family--people standing watch, asking what could have been done differently, etc. Once the act was completed by him, there was sadness, pain and questions, but in the end, it made a lot more sense for him to commit the act then a bunch of us worry about it.

Sometimes, mental illness, like cancer, can't be cured.

Most gun deaths are suicide. If we allow abortion and feel Dr. Assisted suicide is OK, why should we be anti gun because someone offed him/herself? It's quick, painless and efficient.

It's really great that gun owners are killing themselves and their family members off at the rate of two or three a day but it is not enough. How can we make it better?

You're more likely to be killed by a car than with a gun.

Also, Id like to add that many US gun homicides are in locations where guns are actually banned. Banning guns hasn't stopped people.
