Most slaves back in the 1600 to 1800 hundreds were muslim when they came here on ships. Many don't like anything to do with the white Europeans.

Most of it is related to the black nationalism movement of the 1960s. Nation of Islam nonsense, which isn't real Islam by any means (you'd be hung for it in the Middle East). After Malcom X broke away and denounced the "nation of islam" leadership he turned to real islam, influencing a lot of people nowadays. They believe that their ancestral heritage is rooted in the Islamic traditions of 16th century Africa. Which ain't even close to the murderous anti-civilization crap we see out of ISIS today.

Well said, but you neglected to mention that Malcolm was killed by members of the Nation of Islam, aka Crazy Farrakhan's Niggers from the 1960s. The suck part is that many members of NOI today, 50 years later, are reasonable and good people, as Malcolm was. Farrakhan's death by natural causes cannot come soon enough.
