Carlyfiorina.org = LMOA! Ex HP Employee Bought Domain Name

Just hours after the Republican Carly Fiorina announced her presidential run, she was criticized on a website bearing her name, for causing the loss of 30,000 jobs while serving as the CEO of Hewlett-Packard.

As Wired first reported, Fiorina appears not to have registered her dot-org domain name. However, she does have carlyfiorina.com registered. The dot-org page, carlyfiorina.org, has this message: "Carly Fiorina failed to register this domain. So I'm using it to tell you how many people she laid off at Hewlett-Packard." The site then displays several arrays of frowny faces. It continues:

"That's 30,000 people she laid off. People with families."
That number has been a subject of discussion for years. Fiorina, who ran HP for about six years from 1999, oversaw the company's merger in 2002 with PC-maker Compaq. She was fired by the board in 2005.

She has made her business experience a centerpiece of her campaign — something that was also true when she ran for Senate in 2010 against incumbent California Democrat Barbara Boxer.

So, there was a tech bubble and recession during her time as CEO. She laid off dead wood in order to save the company. Let's hope she does the same with the federal bureaucracy!

Being a malware site. LOLOLOLOLOLOL

Hillaryclinton.org will probably just infect your computer

NEW YORK — Hillaryclinton.org bears the likely Democratic presidential candidate’s name, but she would not want supporters to go there: some cyber security experts said this week the site contains malicious software.

The site is registered, not to Clinton, but to an administrator in the Cayman Islands. Its existence underscores the challenge 2016 U.S. presidential hopefuls will face in trying to control their digital brands, more important than ever before as voters increasingly turn to the Internet to learn more about candidates.

An examination by Reuters of domains including the full names of eight Republican and four Democratic hopefuls, ending in .com, .org, .net and .info, showed that only a few of those sites appear to be under the control of the candidates.

The rest are seemingly owned by a hodgepodge of buyers — from self-declared fans of the candidates to anonymous registrants who have “parked” the domains — that is to say owned but unused — for undisclosed reasons.

“Welcome to the Wild Wild West of the Internet,” said Patrick Peterson, the chief executive of cyber safety company Agari.

Several experts, including from Trend Micro and TrustedSec, who reviewed the hillaryclinton.org site at the request of Reuters said it contained malware that could infect users’ computers or phish for personal information. Kevin Epstein, a vice president at cyber security company Proofpoint, said the site had “classic domain-squatting drive-by download malware.”

The owner of hillaryclinton.org did not respond to a request for comment.

Calry Fiorina, shortest GOP candidate run ever. One day and she is already history.

Time to start laughing at Ben Carson.

Where is that in the original post?

Hillary Clinton was fired by the electorate in 2008. What part of that don't you understand?

Oh lordy, now conservatives need a reading comprehension class too?

I suggest you re-read the OP using a ruler to go sentence by sentence until you find it.

Hillary Clinton was fired by democrat Jerry Zeifman, senior counsel and chief of staff of the House Judiciary Committee, who was her boss on the Watergate investigation. He cited her record of engaging "in a variety of self-serving unethical practices in violation of House rules.”

Most of the lay-offs were eliminating redundancy after the merger with Compaq. Then moving away from hardware more to the consulting side with the rest of the industry.

She should have cut 50,000. Had to work with HP all the time back then. Biggest bunch of do-nothings ever. Would take a week to get the most simple thing out of them. Then they'd all disappear to go on some management retreat somewhere. Almost as much dead wood as government employees.

She was fired by the board in 2005. Nuff said. The HP board obviously had problems her.

She didn't resign. When a board wants to move on, the a good CEO has a chance to resign with a nice severance package.

She shouldn't be running on her business record if she got fired as the CEO of HP. That simple.

Which has nothing to do with the layoffs and, no, not really nuff said. It was a lot more complicated than that at the time.

Lots of CEOs are removed by their boards for various reasons. Especially when a founding family member (Walter Hewlett) remained on the board and had their own ideas about how the company should be run and launches a messy proxy battle against you.

I don't think that she was THAT great myself but not horrible either. Most of the animosity toward her was a result of "killing Compaq" and the layoffs. Also being an outsider she didn't have the internal support to do a lot of what she had to do. But all of the other big companies in that space ended up doing the same things and going the same directions that she was as far as the main criticisms eventually. Even more consolidation and layoffs came later across the industry. So in the end she probably was proven more right than wrong.

I worked directly with her as a result of my boss at the time being a very well known guy and heading a big industry group. Going through my daily voice mail at the time sounded like a Who's Who of legends of the tech industry. lol She's a very sharp lady and has a compelling story. Not many people actually work their way up to a position like that. She was in a tough spot at HP given the place and time. It was a mess. Too many people who had been there too long and too set in an outdated, slow-moving business model. Not sure anyone else would have ended up doing any better.

the PC market has barely anything to do with Hewlett Packard - who made and still makes many goods other than PC goods

the PC market that crashed due to Microsoft's treasons of reverse engineered attacks on all american makers (software and hardware) and promotion of only Microsoft software and chinese hardware - that and a product designed to prevent productivity by delays and cost killed the PC market - delays Microsoft used to "get time to get ahead". and when that failed - Microsoft bought judges and gov officials and moved into DC with the niggas and used USA Grant money

for one thing HP's printing business was injured by Microsoft who only supported chinese printers and refused to allow PostScript printing because they didn't want to pay for any USA patents. Microsoft also tried to kill apple, intel (currently). They are trying to kill DVD, refused to use JPEG or MPEG. attack attack attack the company does nothing except or other than run attacks on the United States of America.

Compaq at the time was a PC maker who only assembled imported asian parts - also nothing to make a note of. merging with Compaq (what little there is to speak of) doesnt account for 30,000 jobs in any way whatsoever. previously compaq had been a contended: but incompatibility with microsoft (which was designed) killed their market for selling their products - and that devolved into regurgitating asian imports.

The whole news store is full of shit.

the microsoft developer VC++6 Cd specifically states:

do not write printer driver support it will fail.

call microsoft, give them all your patented plans (see license: they come to own it), and they will "do your printer driver for you".
