As much as I despise Eli, I know that he is not Caan. He would not have that lapse in judgement in using his name and real email address on a copyright claim, and he would let me believe that some random kid was actually him. Caan is really trying to convince everyone that he is not this Sadler kid.

From connecting the dots, it seems that Caan/Thay found this forum when some of his family started posting in the Prince William forum about him and his mother's criminal activities.
Caan is a mentally disturbed teenager that has been involuntarily committed to mental institutions, and has been in trouble with the law over online harassment towards certain family members.
His mother has been in legal trouble over trespassing and online harassment as well.
Caan also deleted his Twitter account and Facebook account shortly after he wrote that farewell thread. It looks like he just reinstated his Facebook profile though.
