US Court: There is No IRS Scandal - Tells Tea Party to Pound Sand
Posted by: It's Official ()
Date: October 23, 2014 06:33PM

A federal judge tossed a lawsuit against the Internal Revenue Service by True the Vote, Inc. and other tea party groups, saying there's no ongoing controversy for the court to consider.

"Unless an actual, ongoing controversy exists in this case, this Court is without power to decide it," U.S. District Court Judge Reggie Walton wrote in his opinion.

True the Vote sued the IRS over delays in its application for tax-exempt status, the AP reported earlier.

Actually not. What they said was that there was targeting but since she did eventually receive the tax-free status there was no active targeting at this time so nothing to act on.

Actually yes. What they said was you have no basis for a suit. Fuck off.

No harm. No foul. No scandal.

All the Conservative BS and tax dollars wasted - for what?

Uh, no. Your title is wrong even by your own description of the decision as I (and you) stated it.

The court did not say "There is No IRS Scandal" per your title. In fact, the activities which were alleged by the plaintiffs which constituted the "scandal" were stipulated and admitted by the defendant (IRS). The point of the decision dismissing the related counts is that it is now moot since the activities constituting the scandal have stopped, the IRS has put in place preventive measures so that they don't happen in the future, and the groups have received approvals (at least most, some continue). That is, if there were no activities which created the scandal, then they could not have been stopped and remedial actions taken.

The American people already knew this and have all along.

It is the GOP who will create fake scandals and beat them to death, only making themselves look like fools.

This is "scandal" #56 that equaled nothing.

It is such the norm that their ignorance no longer surprises anyone and it does not even make the news.

It seems the scandals is that the IRS is not following the law and decided that primarily = exclusivly.
From my understanding.....

This case wasn't about whether there was a scandal or not. That there was a scandal was admitted by the IRS. The case was about whether the plaintiffs were entitled to seek relief and monetary damages. If you retards watched something other than MSNBC, then you might be better informed.

..and there never was an IRS scandal. Just like there was never a Benghazi scandal or stand-down order.

What about the IRS, and Lerner herself, admitted to inappropriate targeting don't you understand?

And all of the people who were there say that they were told not to go repeatedly. The "stand down order" word parsing was created by those defending the administration. Whether there was some official "stand down order" was never the question.

Again, if you watched something other than MSNBC, then you'd know these things.

If you weren't so stupid, maybe you would understand that this is going nowhere.

Your efforts are futile.

Who is the leader of the Republican party today? Do you have anyone noteworthy (besides Sarah Palin)?

I'm not a Republican. Or a Democrat. Or a follower of any political party for that matter.

I'm somebody who doesn't like abuses of power and the government trying to bullshit people.
